Blind Chinese legal activist, Chen Guangcheng, arrived in New York a few hours ago with his family ending a minor month-long diplomatic row between the United States and China.
Guangcheng was hastily put on an American Airlines flight after Chinese authorities gave him the green light to leave his homeland. He arrived with his wife and their two children, ages eight and six.
He has been admitted to the University of New York to study law. The activist received a warm welcome by several dozen supporters at the university where he will be staying.
However, just before leaving China he voiced serious concerns of his family and relatives left behind.
