Disco Diva Donna Summer died of lung cancer, but she wasn’t a smoker, according to her family representative.
“There had been various rumors circulating about the cause of death, but she died of cancer,” Brian Edward, the family rep, was quoted. “Obviously, several factors could be attributed to the cause of cancer in general, but any details regarding the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of Summer’s case remain between her family and team doctors,” the rep said in a statement.
The “she works hard for the money” singer won five Grammy awards during her career that begun in late 1970s. Summer died at a Florida home on Thursday surrounded by her family and friends. At the age of 20, she waltzed her way into the music career with five double albums.
