Jennifer Lopez (J-Lo) beat out Oprah for the premier spot on Forbes’ prestigious Annual Celebrity 100 List. American Idol judge J-Lo earned more than $52 million over the past 12 months and famously endorsed the Fiat 500 automobile and a line of clothing for Kohls. Although Oprah earned $113 million more during this period, Forbes also considers intangibles like exposure, fame, impact and social media exposure. J-Lo has gone from pretty woman associated with Puff Daddy to savvy operator.
Lady Gaga, who topped Forbes’ Celebrity list in 2011, earned the fifth spot on the 2012 list. Although she did not tour as much as she has in the past, she enjoyed brisk record sales worldwide. Lady Gaga remains a brand second to none. Third on the list is Justin Beiber, an 18-year-old entertainer and venture capitalist. Justin’s earnings of $55 million came from touring record sales and investments.
Also on the list is Kim and Khloe Kardashian, who earned $18 million and $11 million respectively. These sisters, once famous just for being famous, are fast becoming influential Hollywood icons. The entire Kardashian family is emerging from the shadows and becoming a real American success story.
Rhianna, Ashton Kutcher, Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump also made the top 100.
