Chris Brown and Drake’s nasty bar brawl has been one of this week’s top headline stories. Most of the evidence appears to be mounting up to support the notion that Brown was ambushed by the Drake camp. Moreover, witnesses are defending Brown’s behavior, characterizing it as polite and heroic. In an E! exclusive interview, Sal Strazzullo, a lawyer for one of the injured witnesses, mode Ingrid Gutierrez, stated that his client claims that Brown attempted to leave the W.I.P. club in Manhattan after receiving a note from the Drake table. Suddenly a bottle was hurled from the vicinity of the Drake camp launching a bloody brawl that ended up injuring Brown and 5 others. Strazzullo further stated that according to his client, Chris tried to protect her during the melee.
TMZ was the first to report that Brown never sent Champagne to the Drake table and it appears that that has been confirmed by several eyewitnesses. Brown’s management, “Phase Too Inc., tweeted that the rumor suggesting that Brown sent a $2,000 bottle of Ace of Spades Champagne to Drake’s table was a bunch of crock. “There was no bottle sent to @drake.”
In the aftermath of the fight, the W.I.P nightclub has been shut down indefinitely for violations unrelated to the events that unfolded earlier this week. In addition, contrary to what has been reported in the media, TMZ has learned that Drake is not facing arrest for reckless endangerment or anything else connected to the Thursday night incident.
The “New York Daily News” is reporting that an eyewitness named Kenneth McCray states: “Drake threw the bottle at Brown, but it missed him and hit his bodyguard… it looked like it was Drake that started throwing bottles. After Drake’s crew threw a few bottles the other side started returning bottles. It was crazy. Some of the bottles were already full. They were like bombs; people were running and screaming… I saw Drake swinging, but I couldn’t tell if he hit Brown or his bodyguard.”
From the look of things it appears that this story isn’t going anywhere but bad soon. With witnesses and victims getting lawyered up, it’s bound to remain a headline issue through the entire 2012 year.
Doomsday students don’t have to wait for the Mayan Calendar’s predicted end or the world prophecy to unfold because the feud between Christ Brown and Drake is destined to provide the music industry with an apocalypse of their own.
