Courtney Cox and David Arquette are headed for the divorce court. No it’s not a reality show; it’s real life. Arquette filed for divorce last Friday in Los Angeles, claiming irreconcilable differences. The two had been married for 12 years; however, for the last two years, the couple have been separated.
The permanent breakup comes amidst rumor that the couple might give their marriage another go round, but it appears that that will never happen. Arquette seems content and in love with actress Christina McLarty, the ex-wife of “Girls Gone Wild” creator Joe Francis.
Arquette has been talking about the broken relationship every time he finds a chance. Recently on the Howard Stern radio show, Arquette talked about how he and Cox cried when he told her that he was in love with another woman.
One cannot help but to think back to Cox’s first appearance on film in the Bruce Spingsteen video “Dancing In The Dark.” Those were special times for the TV actress. She was thrilled to get on stage and dance with Springsteen as it seemed he was singing to her. I can imagine her remembering the words to the song as he said, “You can’t start a fire sitting around crying over a broken heart…. You can’t start a fire worried about your little world falling apart.” We can only wish Courtney the best.
