The House voted today 255 to 67 finding Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for not producing the documents requested about the Fast and Furious gun running operation in Mexico, Eric Holder is the first Cabinet member to be held in contempt, making today a historic day. Seventeen democrats crossed over to vote with the republicans in voting yes. GOP Representative Dan Lipinski voted not present, and 65 Democrats left the floor to avoid the vote. “Today’s vote is the regrettable culmination of what became a misguided and politically motivated investigation during an election year,” Eric Holder said about the vote. “By advancing it over the past year and a half, Congressman Issa and others have focused on politics over public safety.” Prior to the vote, Congressman Boehner, R-Ohio, said, “It’s important to remember how we got here. The Justice Department has not provided the facts and information we requested, It’s our contitutional duty to find out,” Congresswoman Pelosi D-CA who feels it is all political said, “What is happening here is shameful.” Why does not following a supena and being found in contempt, a political act? Only a democrat can call a legal proceeding political.
