Michael Phelps loses to Ryan Lochte

In just 31 days, the Olympics will officially start. Until then, athletes compete around the world for the chance to represent their countries in the largest and most recognized sports competition in the world. The 2012 Olympics will be held in London, England this year.

Michael Phelps won eight gold medals in the 2008 Summer Olympics. Spectators everywhere were amazed by this incredible feat. Phelps stated that he would not aim so high in future competitions since accomplishing this goal was very tiring, but it was well worth it.

Today, June 25, 2012, was the 400-meter individual medley Olympic swim trial. Phelps and Ryan Lochte, the man that Phelps so often left in second place, were at it again. This time, however, Lochte won. Phelps got second place and still qualified for the US team. There are many trial swim races to go.

Phelps and Lochte will compete for the Olympic gold medal next month along with the rest of the world.
