Beloved actor and “Family Feud” host Richard Dawson has died. Early this Sunday morning, Gary Dawson posted a Facebook message saying, “It is with a very heavy Heart that I inform you that my father passed away this evening from complications due to esophageal cancer. Hew was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered.”
Dawson’s acting career began in the 1960s comedy “Hogan’s Heroes.” His next regular television appearance came with “Match Game,” and then in 1976, Dawson was hired to host “The Family Feud,” which brought him success and fame and made him a household name.
Dawson was twice married. His first wife was Diana Dors; he met his second wife, Gretchen Johnson on the “Family Feud Show.”
