Speculation has swirled for months as to what caused Katy Perry’s marriage to Russell Brand to end after only 14 months of union. It wasn’t until the pop-star’s recent interview with the Sun newspaper that we were able to extract a plausible answer from Perry. When specifically asked by “The Sun” “if Russell’s lack of visits was the catalyst for the break-up, Katy replied: ‘yes, if I could edit it any other way, I would, but that is exactly what it was.’”
Other reports indicate that Perry wanted the relationship to last and was quite hurt as a result of the breakup. She says in an interview with Access Hollywood, “I was bending over making sure my false eyelashes didn’t fall off mid show.” The super pop star was responding to the “you’ve just been crying” statement made by Access Hollywood reporter Michelle Beadle as she interviewed her about the release of her documentary movie “Part of Me.” It was Katy Perry speaking openly for the first time since her breakup with Russell Brand. It was, as she admitted, a very painful experience.
Perry’s marriage to the British Actor, Brand, ended seven months ago when Brand filed for divorce. The movie includes parts of her relationship with Brand together with the ups and downs. Perry says that she did not want to hide behind a façade that suggested that she lived the quintessential fairytale life. Speaking to Beadle, Perry intimated, “I started to realize… [that] that fairytale I had is not true of me right now…. The last thing I wanted was for the marriage to unravel.”
“Katy Perry: Part of Me” chronicles her life on and off-stage. The cameras sometimes captured the singer’s not so happy moments where the singer appeared bloated, without makeup “where,” as she states, “I am full of zits and exhausted because that is reality.” Perry adds, “I think the idea that you have to be perfect in order to achieve your dream is fake.”
If you are as enamored with Katy Perry as I am, then you will not be able to wait to see her shine and fall in the movie, “Katy Perry: Part of Me.”
