Shelley Berkley statement on Nevada unemployment

Las Vegas— U.S. Senate candidate Shelley Berkley released the following statement upon news that Nevada’s unemployment rate remained at 11.6 percent in June:

“Nevada was among the states hardest hit by the Wall Street recession, and unfortunately, we are still feeling those effects today.  Fighting to create good-paying Nevada jobs that cannot be outsourced and working to make Nevada the clean energy jobs capital of the country must be our number one priority.  It’s time for Washington to start fighting to ensure every Nevadan has access to a good-paying job.  That’s why I’m running for the United States Senate.  Middle-class Nevada families need a fighter, not the Wall Street special interests that caused the recession in the first place.”
