“Another four years! Another four years!” People chanted at the The Canyon Springs High School gymnasium. They were exhibiting their support for Obama’s re-election campaign. “Obama deserves another four years,” they shouted as they waited for the President of the United States of America to appear.
President Obama commented that Mitt Romney’s spending cuts would cripple schools while his tax cuts provide more breaks for millionaires. He also referred to Romney’s running mate, Congressman Paul Ryan, as someone who has consciously helped defeat efforts to rehire teachers laid off during the recession.
In a rally at Canyon Springs High School in North Las Vegas, Obama said, the GOP stinginess on education is “unfair to our kids” and “foolish for our future.” Obama’s comments were interrupted briefly by heckling. When the shouting subsided, he told the crowd, “That young man probably needed a good teacher.”
