Archbishop Desmond Tutu Calls For Bush, Blair Prosecution

HAD TO HAPPEN SOONER OR LATER

By James Turnage:

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu spoke out against the Iraq invasion today to the British newspaper, The Observer Sunday. He believes that George W. Bush and Tony Blair should be prosecuted for their crimes.

He stated that the entire invasion was based on the false premise that Saddam Hussein was harboring weapons of mass destruction. The ensuing act of war waged against a sovereign country devastated and destabilized the entire region.

His statement said; “The then leaders of the United States and Great Britain fabricated the grounds to behave like playground bullies and drive us farther apart. They have driven us to the edge of a precipice where we now stand-with the specter of Syria and Iran before us.”

He believes they should be tried before the international criminal court in the Hague for being the cause of thousands of deaths in Iraq alone. He believes the invasion set the stage for today’s bloody rebellion in Syria, and nuclear proliferation by Iran.

He further stated; “The question is not whether Saddam Hussein was good or bad or how many of his people he massacred, the point is that Mr. Bush and Mr. Blair should not have allowed themselves to stoop to his immoral level.”

I will end this with one simple question. Why has no one in prominence spoken up about this before?
