Here’s a bright spot of happiness in the comedy couple world following the devastating split of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett: “How I Met Your Mother” star Cobie Smulders and “Saturday Night Live” breakout Taran Killam finally tied the knot in California on Saturday, Sept. 8.
They became engaged in January 2009 and have a three-year-old daughter together.
And now after a long-time coming, Cobie Smulders and Taran Killam are husband and wife.
The pair have been together for eight years.
Us Weekly reports that Saturday’s ceremony, which lasted just 15 minutes, took place at Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Solvang, Calif., and was followed by hay rides to a reception at a nearby lake. The actress’s “HIMYM” costar Alyson Hannigan is said to have been among the guests.
“She really wants a dress and she wants white shoes,” Smulders told ET Canada earlier this year about Shaelyn’s excitement for the wedding. “She knows about (the wedding). She knows that there are sweets involved.”
Smulders and the “Saturday Night Live” performer, 30, announced their engagementin early 2009, after Killam proposed over the holidays.
Smulders recently revealed that the couple’s 3-year-old daughter, Shaelyn, was excited to shop for the big day. “She really wants a dress and she wants white shoes,”she told People.
Smulders and Killam confirmed the marriage to the magazine, but there aren’t many other details available. According to RumorFix.com, though, Smulders’ “HIMYM” costars Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris were present at the 300-person-strong celebration.
