FedEx championship proved to be almost anticlimactic

PGA Tour Championship Final

The end of the PGA season, and the challenge for the FedEx championship proved to be almost anticlimactic.

Brandt Snedeker was ranked fifth when the tournament began on Thursday. If any of the top five won, they would also win the FedEx Cup and a 10 million dollar bonus. Snedeker, who was tied for the lead at 8 under par as the final day began Sunday never faltered. While McIlroy and Woods were fading, he continued to play well and putting superbly.

He made three birdies on the back nine. His bogie on the 3 par 18th had no effect on the outcome. He won by 3 strokes over Justin Rose, posting a score of 10 under par for the four days.

This week is the Ryder Cup, matching the U.S. team against a team of Europeans. Snedeker was also a captain’s pick for this final event of the season. Seems like Davis Love III made a pretty good choice.
