Lindsay Lohan spent 84 minutes in jail in 2007 after she plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine, no contest to two counts of driving while intoxicated and one count of reckless driving. Surprisingly, the former Disney child star is using her punishment threshold as a pretext for criticizing her perceived law enforcement leniency towards beleaguered Amanda Bynes.
Unsurprisingly, Lohan stoops to a new low as she publicly throws Amanda Bynes under the bus.
Why? Because Lohan is a bit puzzled that Bynes has thus far only gotten a slap on the wrist following her involvement in several finder benders. Lohan wonders why the former Nickelodeon child star is facing only two-hit-and-run charges. Lindsay, who has been in and out of jail in recent years with charges including DUI, misdemeanor theft and probation violations voiced her displeasure on Twitter. “Why did I get put in jail and a Nickelodeon star has had no punishment(s) so far?” Lohan tweeted late Sunday night.
How hypocritical can Lohan be.
It appears that Lindsay may simply be impatient, because in reality, Bynes faces up to a year in jail as a result of the hit-and-run charges; and over the weekend, her car was impounded after she was pulled over for driving with a suspended license, according to TMZ.
It’s the second time in a week she’s been caught doing so. The previous weekend, she was pulled over for driving without her headlights on (after her license had been suspended), but got off with a verbal warning.
This time, she was issued a misdemeanor ticket.
Days before her car was taken away from her, Bynes was photographed last Tuesday driving illegally on that suspended license and allegedly smoking drugs from a pipe in her car.
The actress was charged last week by the Los Angeles City Attorney with two hit and run charges and was arrested on April 6 for a DUI after sideswiping a police car.
RadarOnline.com has previously reported that Bynes friends are worried she’s “not in touch with reality.”
“Amanda is refusing to go to rehab or seek any form of psychiatric treatment or diagnosis, because it’s clear something is up with her,” according to RadarOnline.com.
“She has been told by her agent and her dad Rick that she has substance abuse issues and needs to get help. She’s a lost little girl right now.”
And in the face of jail time and losing her car, Lindsay wants her more severely punished.
Lohan started her career as a young Disney star.
According to her Twitter bio, beleaguered actress Lindsay Lohan is an “artist of many things.” She’s also a crusader against injustice, particularly as perpetrated by California’s legal system. Understandable, considering her vast experience with the state’s police and courts.
The fact that the star of Lifetime’sLiz & Dick took to her favorite bully pulpit to complain about what she perceives as unfair treatment seems quite disingenuous since her activism interest is supposed to deal with innocent people getting convicted for crimes they didn’t commit, or lopsided custody battles — instead she focused on how Cali treats a former child stars, suggesting that Bynes has been given a pass. And after she compares Bynes’ treatment with her own, Lohan later sneeringly tweets: “These are the moments that I appreciate my life experiences, living without regrets and Disney for supporting me as an actress.”
What a snob.
It’s unfortunate that the media would also allege that in addition to legal woes, Bynes’ mental health has come into question. I was under the impression that only a medical physician could make those kinds of claims. It appears that they have drawn these conclusions from sources that have seen Bynes talking to herself and acting strangely.
In this instance, I have to side with Bynes, who has been telling friends that reports of her bizarre behavior ”are being blown way out of proportion.”
If people are dying to label somebody mentally ill, I can give them a treasure trove of evidence to help them draw the conclusion with Lohan.
