MAN STABBED TO DEATH IN OVERNIGHT HOURS

DETECTIVES SEARCH FOR TWO SUSPECTS

On Monday, September 17, 2012 at approximately 10:53 p.m. LVMPD patrol
officers responded to the 300 block of Orland Street after receiving a call that a man
had been stabbed. Officers arrived to find an adult male victim on the ground suffering
from what appeared to be a stab wound. The victim was transported by medical
personnel to University Medical Center Trauma where he was pronounced deceased a
short time later.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene. An investigation determined the
victim had been approached by two black male subjects and a verbal altercation and
physical fight occurred just prior to the stabbing.
The first suspect is described only as a black male adult, 25 to 30 years of age,
standing 6’ to 6’2” and weighing approximately 180 pounds. The second suspect is
described only as a black male adult, 25 to 30 years of age, standing approximately 5’8”
tall and weighing 190 pounds. Both suspects fled the scene on foot after the incident.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of this crime as William
Fetting, age 23 of Las Vegas. LVMPD Homicide detectives have identified one of the
suspects in this homicide as 45-year-old James Epps of Las Vegas. Epps is described
as a black male standing 6’3” tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. A
photograph of Epps accompanies this updated release.
The Homicide Section has obtained an arrest warrant for James Epps in
connection with the murder of William Fetting. James Epps should be considered
Armed and Dangerous.
