Top supermodel, Adriana Lima gave birth to her second child, a daughter, with hubby, former NBA player Marko Jaric on Wednesday in New York City.
Lima tweeted, “Marko and I are overjoyed to welcome Sienna into our family, and Valentina is looking forward to becoming a big sister,” the model shared in a statement about Sienna, who was born at 1 p.m. and weighed in at approximately 7 pounds on arrival. (Her rep adds that both mother and child are doing well.)
Lima had announced her pregnancy on Twitter back in March.
This is the second child for the 31-year-old Victoria’s Secret stunner and her beau, whom she wed in February 2009 in Wyoming on Valentine’s Day; the couple welcomed three-year-old daughter Valentina later that year.
That pregnancy saw the model develop preeclampsia and give birth prematurely, but she has had a less stressful experience second time round.
Adriana has proclaimed motherhood to be the ‘best job in the world’.
‘The best job in the world for me is being a mom,’ she said. ‘I never thought I could love so much. I always thought, does unconditional love exist? Now I know it does because I feel it.’
Brazilian Adriana – who is a devout Roman Catholic – admitted she knew she wanted to settle down with Marko and have children when they first met.
She said: “I knew he was the one and I could see myself married to him and with a big family.”
But as well as bonding with her daughter Adriana will soon be back on the catwalk if she is anything like her fellow angels Alessandra Ambrosio and Miranda Kerr.
Adriana and former American football star Jaric met in 2006.
Lima took to Twitter back in March to share the happy news of her second pregnancy with her followers.
“My favorite job in the world is being a mom! My family could not be more happy,” she wrote.
Baby Sienna is sure to have just as cosmopolitan an upbringing as her big sis. Back in August 2011, Lima told the New York Post Valentina already speaks three languages: English, Portuguese and Serbian! (Dad Jaric is Serbian.)
“Every day I discover something about her,” she gushed to Us about her toddler. “Every single day is a pleasure to see her. I’m always rushing home! I never rushed to go back in my life! It’s the best.”
We wish them the best!
