Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Have Moved On A Year After Fake Marriage
One year and 19 days after Kim Kardashian’s controversial marriage to Kris Humphries, the basketball star admits he’s finally moved on. The revelation comes at the same time Barbara Walters scheduled interview with Kardashian on “The View.” Early into Kim’s appearance on the show, Walters grills Kardashian, raising several personal questions people are curious to hear her answer. Though the legendary broadcaster has interviewed Kardashian a number of times, she seemed to phrase some personal questions rather awkwardly this time around. After first commenting on Kim’s appearance and then on her relationship with Kanye West, Walters awkwardly questioned the 31-year-old socialite about her recent failed marriage, saying: “A year ago you were married to Kris Humphries, the basketball player that everybody knows, and 30 days later you guys filed for divorce, with millions of people watching…, what is your biggest regret about that time, and what did you learn about yourself?”
Looking a little taken back, Kim replied: “I don’t have a lot of regrets, probably just maybe he was the first person I had really broke-up with. I had a really hard time really braking up with someone so that was hard. I kind of wait, and let them brake-up, it’s so much easier. That was really hard on my heart to have to explain to someone something like that. With regrets as crazy as it sounds; I mean I’m such a different person today. Anyone in my pass would probably want the person that I am today from all my experience. I just care more about the simple things; and you really figure out what is important in life. I value time more, staying home doing nothing, cooking in, not all about the glitz and the glam of the relationship. I just really have grown up.”
It was clear from the interview that Kardashian has long moved past her 10-week marriage and is ready to get pregnant and have a baby with new boyfriend Kanye West.
She explained: “Technically we’re still married … That was really hard on my heart to have to explain to someone something like that.
However, recent reports indicate that Kris Humphries may be just getting over the weight of it all.
The Brooklyn Nets basketball star wed the reality TV beauty in a glittering summer ceremony last year, only to split up just weeks later.
He now accepts the decision to tie the knot with Kim was a ”bad” one, but he does believe the short union happened for ”a reason”.
In an interview with the new issue of Page Six magazine, he said:
”Some people just make bad decisions and you just know it’s not what’s meant to be. The decisions that you make, you obviously make for a reason. Everything in life for me has just been moving forward.”
Despite his short marriage, Humphries – who was featured heavily in episodes of ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ during his time with Kim – is still hopeful he will have a family and kids of his own at some point, although he has no ”timetable” for it.
The 27-year-old sportsman admitted:
”I think everyone wants a family of their own one day. You’re at the point in your life when all of your friends are married and stuff. For me, at least, everyone runs their own race. You can’t put a timetable on it.”
Kardashian “definitely” wants to start a family with the 35-year-old rapper and thinks he is the right man to give her the children she has always wanted.
On the ‘The View’, Kim revealed: “Kids are definitely something I want.
“I think I wanted that before. I think I fell in love so quickly and wanted that to be my life so badly but I just didn’t take the time to find someone. I definitely think anything I’d be in now is a permanent relationship.”
Walter’s also learned that the curvaceous beauty had no problem speaking candidly about her six-month romance with the West – who brags about her infamous 2007 sex tape in his latest track ‘Clique’ – and described him as her “perfect match”.
Kim enthused: “In a perfect world you know when you find someone that you really think is your perfect match.”
She was then quizzed: “Is he?” To which she replied: “I think so.”
Fan’s hoped that Walter’s would ask Kardashian if she knew specifically why her marriage with Humphries’s failed. Unfortunately, Kim never answered that question.
Nevertheless, to this day most people believe that the answer to the question as to why the couple split can be found in a clip from “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”
It was the episode where Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries were already sounding like an old married couple.
“How am I going to have my career and live in Minnesota?” Kardashian gripes to Humphries in a scene from a preview clip of her E! show Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
“Baby,” Humphries snaps back, “by the time you have kids and they’re in school, no one will care about you.”
Under any other circumstances, their spat over the uncertainty of where Humphries’s NBA career would land them could be written off as the usual heightened-for-TV reality-show drama.
But not long after the episode was shot, Kardashian, 31, filed for divorce from the 26-year-old pro basketball player. Now, the verbal exchange provides just one clue of what went wrong.
Reportedly, Kardashian claims “She rushed into it too fast.” During the time of the split, sources told “People,” “She’s holding it together. It’s insanely troubling and heartbreaking, but it’s a decision she knew had to be made.”
But at the time, Humphries didn’t appear ready to sign divorce papers. He claimed back then that he was devastated by the split and was willing to do whatever it took to save the marriage.
Barbara Walters never asked Kardashian about the current state of her divorce. Nevertheless, Kim and her family are pleased that Humphries is finally over the relationship, and hope his present state will help expedite court proceedings, according to sources.
