Arizona-Nevada on U.S. 93: Driver killed and 10 other people are seriously injured in tour bus crash, according to the Arizona DPS. The report also mentioned 45 more people have less serious injuries.
The tour bus was involved in a collision on northbound US 93 at milepost 19.8, near the Hoover Dam and the Nevada border. The driver of the bus was pronounced dead at the scene. Early indications were that the driver had suffered a medical incident immediately before the crash.
Medical helicopters and ambulances are on their way to assess and treat the victims. Officers will investigate the cause of the collision.
US 93 northbound has been narrowed to one lane.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., the bus drifted off Highway 93 and into a ravine near mile marker 13 in Arizona, a spokesman from the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
Four of the 10 seriously injured passengers were considered in critical condition late Friday. There were 60 people on the bus at the time.
DPS and Mohave County authorities were on scene working to investigate the crash and find shelter for the remaining 50 people on the bus.
