California Law Enforcement Officers arrested Akingide Cole near his mother’s residence

On October 24, 2012, in Southern California. The tip leading to Coles arrest was generated by media coverage of this crime. Working in conjunction with Detectives from the LVMPD Tourist Crimes Unit, members of a fugitive task force comprised of officers from the San Bernardino and L.A. County Sheriff’s Offices took Cole into custody without incident. Cole was arrested on Las Vegas fugitive warrants charging him with Grand Larceny, Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools. Following Coles arrest Detectives from Metro’s Tourist Crimes Unit traveled to Southern California where they recovered chips valued at over $396,000; the total value of the chips taken in the original crime exceed $1.6 million dollars.Additionally, on October 25, 2012, Venetian Security Officers located one of the tools used to commit the crime. The tool was found inside a gaming parlor room within the casino.A prior booking photograph of Cole accompanies this release.
