How to Get an iPhone at the Best Price?

Getting a Deal on an iPhone

Just about everyone wants an iPhone and just about anyone would take an iPhone for a good price. But the reality is that most of us don’t want to have to bend of backwards to get one due to the high cost of the phone itself and the monthly service for it. So there’s the problem. Are you ready for some good news? I’ve found a loophole and I’m more than willing to share it with you.

The first thing that you need to know is the loophole that I’ve found is not illegal. Now with that being said let’s get started. If you want an iPhone but you don’t have the big bucks to buy one then let me ask you one question. Do you have $80-$200 to spend on an iPhone? If the answer is yes then you are well on your way to buying a cool new (to you) iPhone. If the answer is still no, then don’t give up hope just yet. Simply sell your current cell phone to an online buyer like sellcell.com, EBay, or Craigslist. If it’s a newer model you will most likely get around $50-$80. There’s some cash to go toward the iPhone that you really want.

*Note: If you have to sell your current cell phone do not forget to take out the sim card before you sell it. This will be needed when you purchase the iPhone.

Now many of you already know that the iPhone is not sold through any and every cell phone service provider like T-Mobile. Here’s where apart of the loophole comes in to play but we will get to the details of this later. First, you need to buy an iPhone for a great price. You will find the best price for new and used iPhones on Craigslist hands down. Here are the current prices for used iPhones on Craigslist in my area:

iPhone 3GS (2009-2010) $80-$100+
iPhone 4 (20010-2011) $100-$150+
iPhone 4S (2012) $150-$200+

Yes I do know that the new iPhone 5 just came out this past September (this is why the older models are being sold much cheaper). But if you are trying to be frugal you will do well by sticking with buying an older model. Even a model that is a couple of years old will do what you want it to do and it will most likely be better than the cell phone that you own now. So hop online and check out iPhones for sell on Craigslist. If you are willing to travel you will find the iPhone at the price that you want to buy it for.

A couple of important questions to ask before you purchase an iPhone found on Craigslist:

1. If the iPhone is priced at $150 ask will they take $125. Don’t be afraid to bargain.
2. Ask what is the wear and tear on the phone. Ask for pics if they aren’t already shown.
3. Ask if the ESN is good. This means the iPhone can work on any carrier. If the ESN is bad and the carrier that the iPhone is working on is not the same as yours then don’t buy it because it will not work for whatever carrier you currently have.
4. Ask if the iPhone is already unlocked. If it is then that is one less thing that you have to worry about.
5. Ash if the iPhone has a sim card slot. If it does not do not buy it because you will not be able to use your current sim card in order to get the iPhone working on your carrier’s service.
6. Ask what comes with the iPhone for sale. It would be best to purchase an iPhone with at least the battery and charger so you don’t have to purchase one from somewhere else.
7. Ask if the buyer will be able to meet you in a public place. Be sure to pick a place that has a lot of people, gives free wifi, and is well lit. If you are a woman please be sure to bring a male friend along just in case.

Once all of these things are taken care of and you are ready to buy the iPhone. Meet the buyer and test the phone. Make sure everything works and most importantly that the ESN is clean. Here is a link to show you how to do this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oJLnoJt9JM (You will need to bring your laptop along with you for this check. If you don’t own one bring a friend that does or borrow one.)

For the next step need to make sure your sim card works with the iPhone and that it will make a phone call with your sim card inside (showing that it is using your carrier’s service). Here are a number of links that will show how to do this step (Be sure to watch the videos before going to purchase the iPhone):

For an iPhone 3GS – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogZrJunvGWA

For an iPhone 4 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtTzEJUS0io

For an iPhone 4S – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16IcEI-RmNY

For the last step when you go to check out and hopefully purchase the iPhone simply pull up the link for the appropriate model iPhone that your are planning to buy. After you follow the video tutorial carefully test the iPhone by calling voicemail. If the service is now operating on your service with your sim card inside the iPhone then you are good to go. You have a new-to-you iPhone and you didn’t even have to switch carriers! For some reason if you run into any problems find out what the baseband is on the iPhone then find the appropriate Youtube video tutorial and try again. Remember, just about every tutorial that you may need is available on Youtube. Just be patient and wise about this purchase.

*Note: Make sure you have a Micro sim card. If you have a newer cell phone model then you most likely have one inside of your cell phone. If you do not have a Micro sim card there is no need to panic. Simply buy a Micro sim card cutter on EBay for only $1.25 (FREE shipping). Insert your current sim card into the Micro sim card cutter and it will cut it to the size that fits into any iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4S.

*Note: You will also need a Gevey Ultra Pro Unlock Turbo Sim which is a small tray that the Micro sim card fits it before being placed inside any iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4S. Simply buy this small tool on EBay for only $6.99 (FREE shipping). Even if you already have a Micro sim card inside of your cell phone you will still need this item.

Enjoy your new-to-you iPhone!!

There are too many retired iPhones sleeping in drawers. The article is very useful and informative for people having non-using iPhones.
However, I don’t agree this the price part.
“Here are the current prices for used iPhones on Craigslist in my area:

From my research, iPhone 4 is at least $220+ and 4S $350 +.

Check this out, we have to know the fair market price before we decide to sell them.
