Journey’s Neal Schon steals Tareq Salahi wife Michaele, now the two are engaged

When you’re in a long-term relationship, no breakup is really expected with open arms. And so it was with Tareq Salahi, when just a year ago the Real Housewives of DC star reported his wife Michaele missing and kidnapped.

It soon emerged that the now 47-year-old blonde had run off with her ‘friend’ of many years, guitarist from the rock band Journey Neal Schon.

The couple are now officially engaged, after Schon, 58, proposed to his girlfriend of a year while playing at a benefit concert in Los Angeles.

TMZ is reporting that Schon’s band was playing for the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center on Sunday Night, when he called Michaele up on stage and popped the question.

Salahi broke down in tears and jumped up and down as the band played their song Faithful, according to the website’s sources.

The proposal was apparently a complete surprise to Salahi, who became officially divorced from Tareq back in August.

Neal and Michaele first met in the Nineties, and are said to have dated during that period.

The Salahis gained national attention in November 2009 by crashing a White House state dinner in honor of India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

In 2010, the couple were featured in the Bravo reality television show “The Real Housewives of D.C.”

The couple clashed with other featured cast members, and the conflicts continued after the show aired.

The production was not flattering to the Salahis, and included coverage of the White House gate crashing fiasco in detail.

Schon, meanwhile, has five children from four failed marriages, his most recent to Amber Kozan, who was married to the rocker for seven years before they divorced in 2008.

Michaele Salahi presented a fashion show as part of Sunday night’s benefit at the Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric.

Tareq Salahi was reportedly heartbroken his wife left him to be with Schon back in 2011. They were divorced last August.
