This week’s controversial dispute between Lindsay Lohan and her mom, Dina, was no surprise to Nassau County police nor those close to the family. “It’s a weekly occurrence, Lindsay and Dina are always getting huge fights that can turn physical,” a source close to the Lohans told Fox. Such a dramatic lifestyle has probably warped the former child star’s worldview and has perhaps led to many of her headlining troubles.
Another insider has said that tensions are on the rise given that both are enduring some “serious money problems” and it is believed that Wednesday’s pre-dawn spat erupted over a $40,000 loan the “Mean Girls” star took out to prevent her family home from being foreclosed.
According to one source, Dina spent a great deal of money trying to help her problem-plagued eldest daughter with various lawyer and rehab fees, which likely contributed to housing payment debt.
Lohan had recently accused her mom of not paying back a $40,000 dollar loan to save her house; according to TMZ.
Lohan’s recent altercation, which involved police being called to the scene of a violent fight between the actress and her mother, has some observers noticing the troubled movie star apparently sneaking back to Beverly Hills. According to the New York Daily News, the actress escaped the East Coast to attend a product launch in LA.
Sometime after she arrived home, cops were called to her home as a result of an alleged physical altercation involving Dina and her daughter Lindsay.
According to TMZ, law enforcement officers arrived at Dina’s Long Island home after receiving a complaint alleging that Lindsay was “being held against her will by Dina and her driver.”
No arrests were made, a domestic incident report was filed and that Lindsay Lohan — who may or may not have temporarily been held against her will by both her mother and the driver of the car that took them back to Long Island — allegedly sustained a cut on her leg because of all this lunacy.
Lindsay, 26, and Dina, 50, left at 4am and “began arguing in the car,” before the row escalated and “became physical.”
TMZ also report that a bracelet belonging to Lindsay was broken and “some property damage” occurred in the fallout.
The 911 call was treated as a “domestic violence” call by police, who took a Domestic Incident.
According to the New York Post, the 911 call drew a ‘small army’ of police to the house around 8.15am.
Witness John Scalesi told the newspaper: ‘She [Lindsay] was yelling “I’ve had enough of this!”
Nassau police Inspector Kenneth Lack told the newspaper: ‘It was just a verbal dispute in the vehicle. It was an argument between Lindsay Lohan and her mother Dina.
“Lindsay called her father and her father called police.”
Michael Lohan confirmed to the newspaper that Lindsay and Dina had been arguing in the car, but added: “It was a hell of a lot more than that.”
A photograph was taken earlier in the evening showing Lindsay in good spirits while posing with a random clubgoer at Electric Room, nightclub.
Lindsay, who appeared happy and relaxed in New York at the weekend, has been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons, despite trying to put her career back on track with Lifetime biopic Liz & Dick.
Most recently, she accused a fellow partygoer at a Manhattan nightclub of assaulting her after a late night out.
Twenty-five-year-old Christian LaBella was arrested on September 30 after an apparent struggle between the pair at the W Hotel where she was staying.
Police sources told the New York Post that LaBella, an aide to Illinois GOP congressman John Shimkus, had been accused of taking cellphone pictures of Lohan partying, leading to a violent physical altercation between the pair.
Police have said the star wasn’t seriously injured.
Law enforcement officials interviewed both Lindsay and LaBella and determined the accusations against him could not be substantiated and they said his arrest would be voided.
Apparently, both Dina and Lindsay have filed complaints against each other.
Ironically, Dina has not managed to escape controversy herself, recently appearing on psychologist Dr Phil’s TV show, where she slurred her words and appeared agitated.
She even flipped her middle finger at the TV host after he became frustrated with her seeming inability to answer his questions directly.
Dina strongly denied the accusations, telling TMZ: “I don’t care what it looks like. I’m fine and I don’t care what anyone says.” She claims clever editing was to blame.
Last month, a Manhattan cook charged that Lohan — who is on probation for stealing a necklace in California — hit him with her Porsche in Chelsea.
Previous incidents include: A minor car accident in West Hollywood, Calif., in 2005; a denial of a 2006 report by Vanity Fair, which said Lohan had admitted she had bulimia; a handful of rehab stints in 2007; Lohan arriving more than an hour late to a probation hearing related to impaired-driving cases in October 2009; and, a warrant being issued in June 2010 after a judge ruled Lohan had violated a court order not to consume alcohol.
In addition to “Mean Girls,” Lohan starred in such movies as “Freaky Friday,” “The Parent Trap” and “Liz & Dick,” premiering next month on the Lifetime channel, in which she played the role of Elizabeth Taylor; with Frank Lovece, Tania Lopez and Anthony M. DeStefano.
