One person is now reported dead in the Miami-Dade college parking garage collapse. Fire Rescuers have responded the structural collapse garage that was under construction at the west campus of Miami-Dade College Wednesday morning, officials said.
According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, the incident happened shortly before 11:45 a.m. along the 3800 block of Northwest 115th Avenue.
At the time of the collapse, it appears that the structure was occupied only by construction workers and not by any students from the college, police said.
It appears that several people who escaped from the structure suffered minor injures.

Miami-Dade was responding to a garage collapse at Miami-Dade Community College’s west campus in Doral, officials said Wednesday.
A portion of the six-floor parking garage located at 3800 NW 115th Avenue collapsed around 11:40 a.m., police said. Police said it appeared as if the garage was occupied by construction workers only.
Aerial footage showed firefighters escorted a man, who appeared to be a construction worker, out of the garage. While firefighters apparently searched through the debris.
The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Technical Rescue Collapse Unit was also at the scene.
No other information was immediately known.
