Let’s take a look at the difference between a Microsoft press release and reality, shall we? First, the press release:
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
US release date: March 20, 2012
Developer: Slant Six Games
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a true third-person team-based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe. Not only does this setting provide a distinctive backdrop to the action but it also delivers a unique and brutal triple-threat battle. Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W.s) add to the mix as players compete against their team’s opposing squad and tackle this third, unpredictable element that could only exist in the twisted Resident Evil universe. Next, we have the reality of it all: It’s another Resident Evil game. How many variations on a theme can they make? I haven’t played this game and I can already tell you it’s just going to be you fighting and killing a bunch of zombies.
And yet, sometimes there are certain press releases…
Fable: The Journey
ESRB Rating: Rating Pending
US MSRP: $49.99 (ERP)
Developer: Lionhead Studios
Set five years after the events of Fable III, Journey takes you on a magical excursion with only your loyal horse at your reins, Theresa, the mysterious seer of Fable III, by your side, and a malevolent evil to defeat before it claims all of Albion.
…that I hope…HOPE…are right on the money (Yes, I admit I’m a role-playing game geek. You got a problem with that?).
