The season premieres of “The Walking Dead,” “Talking Dead” and “Comic Book Men” will coincide with the network’s annual blockbuster marathon of thriller and horror films, AMC Fearfest. Celebrating its 16th year, AMCFearfest will feature 19 consecutive days of themed programming and more than 70 film, running from Saturday, October 13 through Wednesday, October 31.

ABOUT “THE Walking Dead”
Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, “The Walking Dead” tells the story of the months and years that follows after a zombie apocalypse, and follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), who travel in search of a safe and secure home. Additional cast includes: Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori Grimes; Laurie Holden as Andrea; Steven Yeun as Glenn; Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon; Chandler Riggs as Carl; Lauren Cohan as Maggie; Scott Wilson as Hershel; Iron E. Singleton as T-Dog and Melissa McBride as Carol. The series is executive produced by Glen Mazzara, Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert with Greg Nicotero as co-executive producer.

“The Walking Dead” reigns as the most watched drama series on basic cable for Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. Last season, (season two) averaged 6.9 million viewers. The series has garnered an Emmy® Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Make-up and a Golden Globe® Award nomination for Best Television Series – Drama, among other accolades. Critics have heralded the series as “the most suspenseful show on any network” (Boston Herald) and “the greatest thriller ever produced for television” (Entertainment Weekly).

The third season of The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC Sunday, October 14 at 9PM, showrunner Glen Mazarra announced during the show’s Comic-con panel. It will debut internationally during that week, starting October 15. A teaser that was shown to the crowd reveals that a new character, the Governor, seen in the comic books that spawned the series, will be introduced in the upcoming season.
