If anyone has a happiness ever after story, Evan Rachel Wood’s recent marriage to “Billy Elliot” star Jamie Bell qualifies. Woods, who has been featured in HBO’s “True Blood” and starred in “The Wrestler,” tweeted her followers about the wedding saying, Words cannot describe the happiness I am feeling. Overwhelming.
The ceremony took place in California and a spokeswoman for Wood said, “the bride wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera. It was a small ceremony with close family and friends.” Actor Max Minghella appears to have been one of the few people invited to the affair, as he tweeted, “Yesterday I got to see my best friend exchange vows with the love of his life. Still coming down from high … #TrueRomance.”
The couple recently raised suspicions when they both flashed golden wedding bands .
The on again off again couple, who both have tattoos of each other’s initials, were rumored to have gotten engaged as early as January and Jamie was seen shopping for rings last December.
The newlyweds, who recently attended the 2012 LACMA Art + Film Gala, originally met seven years ago, in 2005, while filming a music video for Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends.”
Before they rekindled their love in the summer of 2011, Evan had a highly publicized engagement to shock rocker Marilyn Manson, 43, whom she reportedly dated from 2006 until 2010.
When Evan and Jamie were spotted at LAX on Monday, the Golden Globe nominee was carrying a shopping bag from sexy lingerie boutique Kiki De Montparnasse, which rather says it all – if ‘all’ means honeymoon.
According to Radar Online, Wood, 25 and her British beau, 26, collected their marriage license earlier this month.
“Evan and Jamie were at the Beverly Hills City marriage license office around lunchtime today,” an eyewitness told the website.
“They were just waiting in line like regular people, holding hands and at one point Jamie leaned over and kissed Evan – they certainly looked excited and happy.”
The busy acting couple both have four films due out for release next year.
Evan will appear in “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman” with Shia LaBeouf, the romance “It Is What It Is” with Sigourney Weaver, and she’s set to play a female truck driver in Michael Polish’s “18 Wheel Butterfly.”
Meanwhile, Jamie will star in the crime-dramedy “Filth” with James McAvoy, sci-fi drama “Snowpiercer” with Tilda Swinton, and Lars von Trier’s real-sex drama “Nymphomaniac.”
It is the first marriage for both Wood and Bell.
