There is one Kardashian that has won the hearts and respect of reality T.V. fans nationwide. Kourtney Kardashian appears to be well off to a good start in leading perhaps the closest resemblance of a normal life given her celebrity status. And as the oldest sibling in the Kardashian family, she is greatly respected and admired for taking control of her personal and professional choices. Now it can be said that no celebrity leads a normal life, but Kourtney, in raising two kids, earning a living, and maintaining a predictable household, she sure seems to have her priorities in order. Moreover, it doesn’t appear she’s interested in allowing her family or anyone else to disrupt the quality of life she has managed to fashion; despite some recent rumors to the contrary. Take it for whatever it’s worth, you can bet that this mother of two will continue to keep it real, no matter how much pressure Kris Jenner applies to Scott Disick for a TV Wedding that will unite him with Kourtney in the upcoming Reality television season; count on the 33-year-old keeping it real.
Perhaps you’re wondering what the fuss is all about; well several media outlets have reported that reality star, Kourtney Kardashian has been receiving pressure to get engaged with her present boyfriend and biological father of the star’s two children, Scott Disick.
Consistent with this pressure are rumors, which allege Disick was spotted at a Fort Lauderdale jewelry store in Florida shopping for an engagement ring. Radar Online reports, Disick was seen with a friend at Levinson Jewellers and according to the source he was definitely shopping for a large engagement ring. The source told Radar, “Scott and his friend looked at a whole selection of amazing rings, all diamond, all different cuts, sizes, settings; he certainly is taking his time and wants to make the right purchase.”
“Hollywood.com” also claims to have an inside source that says: “Kourtney and Scott have met with a wedding planner, and they’ve narrowed down the date – the wedding is scheduled to take place after Christmas but before Easter.
And still there’s the report from “In Touch” magazine that Kris Jenner is behind the rapidly developing story highlighting Disick’s sudden interest with proposing to Kourtney.
Whether or not there’s any truth to these stories is besides the point, because in a world where the personal and professional experiences of the Kardashian family is openly presented each week on cable television’s public stage, it’s understandable for a business savvy family manager like Kris Jenner to do everything she can, within reason, to keep “Keeping up with the Kardashians” relevant. However, In spite of the broad liberty the family has given their mom to arrange events for the purpose of boosting the show’s ratings, Kourtney has been able to escape many of the show’s controversial moments.
If rumors are true, the mother of 2-year-old Mason and 3-month-old Penelope could be moving into an arrangement, reportedly, an engagement and wedding designed for ratings, and which, if she and Disick were not set on marrying one another in the first place, could potentially diminish her honest reputation and perhaps even worst, damage her integrity and career. And for what? “cash”?
Some reports indicate Kourtney is at odds with the wedding idea, and vehemently disagrees with her mother’s attempts to persuade Disick to propose on “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami’s” final episode.
”Kourtney, [always the sensible one] isn’t all too happy about [the prospect] because she still has her doubts about Scott. Scott, on the other hand, doesn’t have a problem with it. He figures they are going to get married eventually, so why not do it on TV.” But as Kourtney sees it, people are attracted to the show’s natural drama and display of everyday life events, like the birth of her children and some of the other natural unforced moments that have highlighted her featured experiences during her career on reality TV. It’s the kind of position Kourtney is admired for. For her, it’s about doing the right thing, thus, odds are, they’ll be no surprises.
Nevertheless, Kris Jenner “runs the family empire and knows a wedding would be good for business so she is pressuring Kourtney to marry Scott,” according to Radar Online. “Even though Kim Kardashian made the stupid mistake of marrying Kris Humphries, [which] didn’t last more than 72 days, Kris Jenner thinks viewers want to see Kourtney Kardashian and Scott get married. The reality show must succeed.”
Since the Kardashian-Jenners can do nothing else but wait until Kim’s divorce with estranged husband Kris Humphries is finalized in order to exploit her inevitable wedding to Kanye West for money, it’s imagined that the quest for ratings has, therefore, laid the gauntlet on Kourtney’s shoulders.
Knowing Kris Jenner, the family matriarch is certainly planning on doing something for publicity? Certainly something “Shocking!” Apparently she didn’t learn any lessons from the PR debacle after the last time a Kardashian staged an obviously phony wedding — and according to “In Touch,” it doesn’t sound like Kourtney learned anything either.
Nonetheless, given Kourtney’s above the fray reputation, “The last thing… [she]…needs is a circus-like wedding and bad marriage like Kim,” according to an “In Touch” insider.
With such business dealings taking place Hollywood, it’s not altogether fair to demonize Kris Jenner for doing her job, after all in practice she has arguably never been one to think about what might go wrong, or what if the marriage itself is not a perfect fit for Scott and Kourtney.
In terms of business, Kris is great at manipulating a situation so that it earns the maximum amount of money it can. But there has been talk, which doubts a Kourtney and Scott televised wedding will be the publicity/financial windfall that Kris has imagined it would be?
Obviously, it wouldn’t make $18 million like Kim Kardashian’s wedding reportedly did, but they may have very well considered, that anything better than nothing.
Besides, at this point, Kourtney’s not likely to get pregnant again anytime soon, Kim can’t legally marry Kanye and Khloe Kardashian has reportedly put off starting a family with Lamar Odom while she concentrates on her X Factor gig; so they’re running out of storylines for the shows.
It all means that there’s a good chance Kris will release enough pressure to convince Kourtney and Scott to marry. But don’t count it done until it’s official.
I am still holding on the a little faith in Kourtney; believing she will do the right thing as has been her MO throughout her professional career. Kourtney is a woman that makes up her own mind and then acts in her own time.
And that leads me to one last point. For the most part, the argument floating around has implied, is Scott ready. You see, Kourtney thought the idea of her mom attempting to convince Disick into marriage, not only crossing the line, but was also inconsiderate of the possibility that Scott may not be ready for marriage.
One thing is for sure, if Scott and Kourtney do become engaged it means the reality star was able to work through some major issues.
After all, just last June, Kourtney told Jimmy Kimmel: “I’m really claustrophobic, and all my issues – and I have a lot of them – they all stem from this thing. I can’t commit to anything… but I love Scott, and he is my partner…. We are committed to each other, we are together, we have a great partnership – I don’t think I’m any different than Khloe and Lamar.”
Well said from an integrity driven person.
So I’m putting my faith on the one person in the Kardashian family that likes to keep it real. My bet says Kourtney Kardashian will continue to live her life in the safety of her convictions and maintain the kind of integrity we have all learned she possesses , whatever her decision will be, Kourtney Kardashian will keep it real.
