Las Vegas NV – critical injury SUV auto collision occurred on Cheyenne Avenue west of Rainbow Boulevard

Las Vegas NV – COLLISION DETAILS: On November 20, 2012 at approximately 12:23 a.m., a critical injury SUV / fixed object traffic collision occurred
on Cheyenne Avenue west of Rainbow Boulevard.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 2012 Ford Escape was traveling eastbound Cheyenne Avenue approaching Rainbow Boulevard. The Ford Escape failed to maintain the travel lane and drove onto the raised island between the right travel lane and right turn lane.

The front of the Ford Escape struck the signal light post on the island which resulted in severe damage to the front of the vehicle.

The operator of the Ford Escape was transported to UMC Trauma where he was treated for critical injuries.

The operator of the Ford Escape exhibited signs of intoxication and was charged with Driving Under the Influence.

The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
