Lindsay Lohan To Be Charged Criminally for Lying to a Police Officer

Lindsay Lohan’s troubled life gets more complicated as TMZ breaks more bad news for the embattled movie star. Today we’re learning that Lohan will be charged criminally with the offence of lying to a police officer. According to TMZ, the star of “Liz & Dick” told Police officers back in June that she was not driving her Porsche when it crashed into the 18-wheeler on the Pacific Coast Highway.

As most of you expected, she was lying through her teeth. If the former Disney star had been telling her lies to an ordinary civilian the act wouldn’t mount up to a hill of beans. However, this time she chose a police officer to tell a lie to.

According to the report, “Sources connected with the case told TMZ … when the Santa Monica City Attorney files the criminal case against Lindsay, it will go to L.A. County Superior Court Judge Jane Godfrey for arraignment. At the time Lindsay is arraigned, we’re told Judge Godfrey will revoke Lindsay’s probation and set the matter for a full hearing, on grounds she violated her probation in the jewelry case by breaking the law.”

Lohan’s run ins with the police is becoming a weekly occurrence. If you recall she had a recent altercation, which involved police being called to the scene of a violent fight between the actress and her mother.

The cause of that incident, according to TMZ began to unfold when Dina allegedly went clubbing in Manhattan Tuesday night, then went home at approximately 4 a.m.

Sometime after she arrived home, cops were called to her home as a result of an alleged physical altercation involving Dina and her daughter Lindsay.

The tabloid’s website reported that law enforcement officers arrived at Dina’s Long Island home after receiving a complaint alleging that Lindsay was “being held against her will by Dina and her driver.”

No arrests were made, a domestic incident report was filed and that Lindsay Lohan — who may or may not have temporarily been held against her will by both her mother and the driver of the car that took them back to Long Island — allegedly sustained a cut on her leg because of all this lunacy.

Lindsay, 26, and Dina, 50, left at 4am and “began arguing in the car,” before the row escalated and “became physical.”

TMZ also report that a bracelet belonging to Lindsay was broken and “some property damage” occurred in the fallout.

The 911 call was treated as a “domestic violence” call by police, who took a Domestic Incident.

According to the New York Post, the 911 call drew a ‘small army’ of police to the house around 8:15 a.m.

Witness John Scalesi told the newspaper: ‘She [Lindsay] was yelling “I’ve had enough of this!”

Nassau police Inspector Kenneth Lack told the newspaper: ‘It was just a verbal dispute in the vehicle. It was an argument between Lindsay Lohan and her mother Dina.

“Lindsay called her father and her father called police.”

Michael Lohan confirmed to the newspaper that Lindsay and Dina had been arguing in the car, but added: “It was a hell of a lot more than that.”

A photograph was taken earlier in the evening showing Lindsay in good spirits while posing with a random clubgoer at Electric Room, nightclub.

Lindsay, who appeared happy and relaxed as she awaits the premiere of the biopic “Liz & Dick,” had appeared to be trying to put her career back on track.

The movie is being pegged as Lohan’s comeback, so you can understand how some are foaming at the mouth to see the troubled star as the great Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime film.

If you missed all the promos, posters and photos circulating since Lohan’s casting was announced, Lohan stars as Liz Taylor and Grant Bowler as Richard Burton. The Movie chronicles the tumultuous and intoxicating relationship between Taylor and Burton, from their first meeting to Burton’s death in 1984.

What could have been a fresh start for the actress struggling with her personal life; it doesn’t seem as if she realizes how much harm she’s doing to her public image.

Most recently, she accused a fellow partygoer at a Manhattan nightclub of assaulting her after a late night out.

Twenty-five-year-old Christian LaBella was arrested on September 30 after an apparent struggle between the pair at the W Hotel where she was staying.

Police sources told the New York Post that LaBella, an aide to Illinois GOP congressman John Shimkus, had been accused of taking cellphone pictures of Lohan partying, leading to a violent physical altercation between the pair.

Police have said the star wasn’t seriously injured.

Law enforcement officials interviewed both Lindsay and LaBella and determined the accusations against him could not be substantiated and they said his arrest would be voided.

Apparently, both Dina and Lindsay have filed complaints against each other.

Ironically, Lohan’s mother has not managed to escape controversy herself, recently appearing on psychologist Dr Phil’s TV show, where she slurred her words and appeared agitated.

She even flipped her middle finger at the TV host after he became frustrated with her seeming inability to answer his questions directly.

Dina strongly denied the accusations, telling TMZ: “I don’t care what it looks like. I’m fine and I don’t care what anyone says.” She claims clever editing was to blame.

Last month, a Manhattan cook charged that Lohan — who is on probation for stealing a necklace in California — hit him with her Porsche in Chelsea.

Previous incidents include: A minor car accident in West Hollywood, Calif., in 2005; a denial of a 2006 report by Vanity Fair, which said Lohan had admitted she had bulimia; a handful of rehab stints in 2007; Lohan arriving more than an hour late to a probation hearing related to impaired-driving cases in October 2009; and, a warrant being issued in June 2010 after a judge ruled Lohan had violated a court order not to consume alcohol.

In addition to “Mean Girls,” Lohan starred in such movies as “Freaky Friday,” “The Parent Trap.”

Reportedly, Lohan has refused to read early reviews of “Liz & Dick,” and after the Guardian Express glanced at a couple, she has good reason to avoid them altogether.

Most of them reflect “The New York Daily News’ impression as they reported: “It’s tempting to say the movie’s big problem is that Lohan is no Liz Taylor. And she isn’t — though that’s not entirely her fault. There aren’t all that many actresses, or women, who can stop a room simply by walking into it. Liz Taylor in her prime could do that. She could make men melt. Lindsay Lohan’s Taylor does not.”

So much for a fresh start!

Presently, Lohan has big troubles in her life as she looks ahead. Her most recent case of lying to police officers could take her off the streets for a considerable amount of time. Perhaps the one thing she could be thankful for is that the judge who handled her jewelry case, Stephanie Sautner, will not be involved in the probation violation case. That’s because once Lohan was sentenced, the probation case gets sent to whatever judge is hearing the next criminal case against her.

It could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
