The anticipation for the upcoming “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” film will soon be at fever pitch. The release of the record-breaking franchise’s final release is just weeks away with all kinds of events leading up to its opening. Even Stephenie Meyer, whose novel the movie is based on has weighed in.
Ask, what she thinks, in term of this last installment on the big screen and you’ll learn that she’s thrilled with director Bill Condon’s efforts, according to MTV.
“[Director] Bill [Condon] has a very good sense of how to really wring your emotions. He put the end together in such a way that I don’t think you cannot have a moment. I can only imagine the fans will really appreciate that moment of reflection,” she said.
“MTV” asked the author about the ‘surprise ending’ or ‘special footage’ that is supposed to appear either in or following the credits on this new film. It’s even been referred to as a ‘special bonus scene.’
“That’s actually incorrect. What they’ve been talking about will be in DVD extras I assume but it’s not in the credits. There is no extra scene,” Meyer explained.
Probably the most significant question Stephenie was asked, however, pertains to rumors that she’s in talks with Summit Entertainment about continuing “The Twilight Saga”–whether as a TV series, another film or even as a series of DVDs. It seems no such talks have taken place.
“I’ve had no conversations to that effect at all. I’ve seen a couple things about it but it’s really not anything I’ve heard about personally,” she answered.
Would she be up for such a project?
“I don’t know,” she said. “For me I have a very different agenda [than the studio]. It seems like that there should be some time, a resting period before that kind of thing comes up but I know they have a different way of looking at things and I’m sure it will be discussed. I’m always open to conversation. Generally if it’s going to be characters that I like, I’d like to read about them first. But that’s because I’m a book nerd.”
You know what this means, don’t you, Twihards? It means that like it or not, it truly sounds like “Breaking Dawn Part 2” is the end of “The Twilight Saga.” It likely means saying goodbye to Edward Cullen, Bella Swan, Jacob Black and the rest of the characters you’ve fawned over throughout these five films. This makes it even more special to witness the reconciliation between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, too. Fans can walk away with the feeling that everything is okay in both the real world and the vampire world, too.
Will Stephenie Meyer’s new revelations about this last “Breaking Dawn” film disappoint lots of people? Do you think most Twihards were seriously banking on a continuation of the franchise–or are they ready to leave Edward and Bella as a sweet memory and turn their attentions to a new film (cult) following?
