In an extraordinay moment Barack Obama crys tears of joy as he speaks to staff after being re-elected president. The president became visually choked up on Tuesday night when he thanked the staff at his campaign headquarters in Chicago. “I’m absolutely confident that all of you are just going to do amazing things in your lives,” he told the staff. “That’s why even before last night’s results, I felt that the work that I had done in running for office had come full circle. Because what you guys have done means that the work that I am doing is important. “And I’m really proud of that,” he said, choking up. “I’m really proud of all of you.”
The event was unpresidented in presidential politics in one particularly interesting way. Obama is the first and only president in history that camera’s have filmed actual tears of Joy. Now there might be presidents that have shed tears at funerals or perhaps in other kinds of grim situations. But Obama’s tears is a first.
The first video below is perhaps the most visable uncontrolled moment anyone has witnessed of a teary eyed president speaking to his staff.
The second represents his final campaign speech.
