4.5 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Gulf of California Following 6.8 quake in Vanuatu.A large 6.8 earthquake has just hit 63km SSW of Sola, Vanuatu. The violent quake was followed by a 4.5 quake in the Gulf of California.

A magnitude-6 earthquake has shaken the Gulf of California coast in Mexico, back in October of 2012 but damage was minimal.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit at 11:26 p.m. Sunday local time (2:26 a.m. Monday EST; 0626 GMT) was centered 63 miles (102 kilometers) southwest of Los Mochis.

All indications is that we simply have a large quake followed by a smaller one in the Gulf of California; nothing to be imediately alarmed of if that’s not where you currently are in the world.

The Guardian Express as promised will update you as soon as we have more news on these recently occurring events.
