Kate Middleton grieves over death of Jacintha Saldanha as DJ duo gloat over prank

Sad News from England

By James Turnage:

Jacintha Saldanha was a nurse working reception at King Edward VII Hospital. She was the unfortunate person to have taken the prank call from Australian DJ’s inquiring about Duchess Kate Middleton’s health. She had forwarded the call to the nurse’s station where Prince William’s wife was being cared for. The second nurse volunteered more information on the care of the Duchess.

She was discovered near death and was unable to be revived. Police suspect her loss of life was due to suicide. She was a 46 year old mother of two. The hospital described her as an excellent nurse who cared for hundreds of patients over her four year employment.

At the time of her death on Friday morning, the Australian DJ duo of Mel Greig and Michael Christian were still posting smiling photos of themselves gloating over the prank.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, made a statement of great sorrow as she grieved over Saldanha’s death.

Ms. Saldanha had not been disciplined by the hospital. The staff was observed in displays of grief at the loss of one of their own, often embracing each other in tears.

Twitter users have accused the DJ’s of “having blood on their hands”. The hospital is considering filing criminal action against Greig and Christian who have canceled their radio broadcasts until further notice.
