Las Vegas: Fatal Traffic Collision on Maryland Pkwy N of Mesquite Ave Saturday Morning

Las Vegas, NV — On November 30, 2012 at approximately 9:17 p.m., a fatal injury auto / fixed object traffic collision occurred on N. Maryland Parkway north of the intersection with E. Mesquite Avenue.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 1999 Acura Integra was traveling north on Maryland Parkway north of Mesquite Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The driver of the Acura Integra failed to maintain the travel lane and slid onto the center median. The right side of the Acura Integra struck a light pole positioned on the center median.

The collision with the light pole caused total loss damage to the vehicle. The operator of the Acura Integra and both passengers were transported to UMC Trauma. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver and the other passenger were treated for serious injuries. This is the 97th traffic related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2012. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Accident Investigation Section.
