Negotiations to avoid the “fiscal cliff”

They’ll Never Get It
Late on Sunday afternoon, negotiations to avoid the “fiscal cliff” took a major setback.  Republicans McConnell and Boehner insisted that social security cost of living increases and Medicare be part of the final plan.  Democrats called their demands a “poison pill”, and fear the worst.
Once again, Republicans just don’t get it.  The voters spoke on November 6th, and they just have to accept it instead of acting like spoiled children.  Why don’t they give back their raises, raises they don’t deserve anyway?
I live off social security, and if it doesn’t stay abreast of the cost of living, I lose money every year.  Republicans are signing their own death warrant with seniors for years to come.  That’s probably a good thing.
