Update Dallas: Abandon child

CPS officials released the child back to his parents. There are no arrests or formal charges at this time. Detectives are still investigating this offense. For information regarding release please contact CPS.

At approximately 1:30 am, Dallas officers responded to an abandon child call at 4154 Preferred Place. According to a witness, a 2 to 3 year old male child was running back and forth unsupervised on the 2nd floor breeze way of the motel. According to the witness, the child was pulling on several doors. The witness carried the child to the manager’s office and notified police. Officers knocked on every door of the motel to locate the parent but was unsuccessful. The officers took the child to CPS unharmed.

While the officers were still at CPS, the parents arrived. There were no arrest made, nor formal charges filed at this time. However, the investigation is ongoing. The child remains in the custody of CPS.

Abandoned child at 4154 Preferred Place, beat 452, ser#17765-A, officer responded to the listed location and discovered a 2 to 3 year old child unsupervised in the Best Value Motel, no adult was found to take the child, so he was the taken to CPS unharmed.‬
