Las Vegas N.Y.E. Updated

As of 2:00 a.m. the 2012-2013 N.Y.E. celebration remains orderly. So far we have had approximately 6 arrests from within the Strip corridor; two of which were for domestic violence. A disturbance inside of Circus Circus involving a weapon has resulted
in the arrest of Manuel Garciahill, 20 years of age of North Las Vegas. Garciahill was taken into custody by Circus Circus security officers with the assistance of two tourists, and will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. There were no injuries reported in this incident. A previous booking photograph of Garciahill
accompanies this release. A man in the Northeast portion of the valley was injured when a round
believed to be fired in celebration of the new year struck him while he was inside of his mobile home. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Downtown Area Command, which covers the Fremont Street Experience, has had approximately ten misdemeanor arrests. There have been 10 DUI arrests, and one misdemeanor traffic citation associated with the N.Y.E. celebration.
