Assemblyman Transported to Area Hospital for Medical Evaluation
Shortly after 1:00 p.m. today Legislative Police Officers providing dignitary protection for Assemblyman Steven Brooks requested LVMPD officers assist when Mr. Brooks became engaged in a domestic disturbance with family members. It was additionally reported Mr. Brooks was exhibiting what was described as bizarre behavior.
Metro Police Officers responded to the 8400 Block of Westcliff Drive in Northwest Las Vegas to the home of Steven Brooks’ grandmother where the disturbance was reported. When officers arrived it was determined that an arrest was not warranted, however due to Mr. Brooks exhibiting erratic behavior the officers felt it was in the best interest of Mr. Brooks to have a medical evaluation performed to prevent harm to himself or others. At that time Mr. Brooks was released to the custody of responding medical
personnel who transported Mr. Brooks to an area hospital.
