On January 14, 2013 offender Miguel Vazquez kicked open the front door to the victim’s (his ex-girlfriend) residence/apartment located in the 4200 block of N Kenmore. Without permission, Vazquez entered the residence and proceeded to damage the victim’s property. Vazquez then stabbed the victim’s 1-year-old cat multiple times about the body causing serious injury to the animal.

As the offender was exiting the building, he was confronted by the victim and her friends, at which time Vazquez struck a 25-year-old male in the back of the head with a pad lock causing him to lose conciousness and a laceration to the head. The victim was transported to Thorek Hospital for treatment for his injuries. Vazquez fled the scene yelling to victim, he left a surprise for her upstairs.

On January 17, the 19th District Burglary Mission Team, along with assiting units, were able to locate Vazquez at his residence where he was arrested on signed complaints by the victims and placed into custody.
