Proud To Be An American? – Never Take It For Granted
Freedom Ain't Free, Defend It At All Costs!
I am tremendously proud, honored, and grateful to be an American.
The United States government is not perfect, but it does seem to be better than many other governments in the world. I realize that the economy is not in the best shape and there is much chaos in Congress, but at least we have a Congress and a capitalist economy.
The politicians in the United States might not be doing the best job they can do, but at least they do not enforce absolute power over the citizens of the United States.
I thank God for allowing me to be born in a country that He blessed. I am thankful for the freedom and rights that I have as an American. I am thankful for the Constitution and the rights it guarantees. I am glad that the United States is a republic and not a communist nation.
I could not imagine how insecure and displeased I would be if I lived in a communist nation. In the United States, I have had the option to choose who I want to be elected. I have remained an active citizen who has done volunteer work, voted in nearly every election, and been a member of various political and charitable organizations.
I am honored that I can vote for politicians instead of being faced with dictatorship. I am also honored and grateful that I have freedom of speech and to practice Christianity.
As an American, I have had the chance to obtain the education and career that I wanted.
I have been able to earn an Associate’s degree, a Bachelor’s degree, and a Master’s degree. I have also been able to pursue a Ph.D. in General Psychology. My dream of becoming a professor has finally come true as well.
I think I would rather be a citizen of the United States than a citizen of any other country. I could not imagine permanently leaving the United States. I most likely would be less happy if I lived in another country.
It seems to me that God truly has blessed the United States, and I am sincerely grateful for being the person I am.
