Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD is Much Better, Cheaper Than Apple’s iPad [Video]
Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, is indicating that their Kindle Fire HD is just as good as Apple’s iPad.
First let’s look at the Kindle Fire HD. There are 3 different types of Kindle Fire HD’s ; the standard Kindle Fire HD with 16 GB and 32 GB, in a 7 inch model; the Kindle Fire HD in a 8.9 inch model, with the same 16 GB and 32 GB of memory, with a faster processor.; And finally the Kindle Fire HD 4G model with 32 GB or 64 GB of memory, in an 8.9 inch model, put forward as the biggest, best and most powerful Kindle Fire available.
Now the Kindle Fire HD is an Amazon product, and if you can wait for any product to be shipped to your location, Amazon.com offers the best prices available today, bar none.
Now the Kindle Fire HD has loads of features, and so does the iPad, and all this talk about storage and memory and cloud storage is all good, but basically they are the same product, and the only difference that I can see is the price.
You can get a basic standard model Kindle Fire HD from Amazon.com for $299, and if you buy this week it is on sale for $269 plus free shipping is included.
Apple’s iPad is quite a bit more pricey at $499, available at any Apple Store.
So there you have it, Kindle Fire HD is basically half the cost of an Apple iPad, with all the same features and memories, retina display, pixel density and so on.
One other difference of note, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD has a front facing camera while Apple’s iPad has both a front and back facing camera. Amazon has indicated that they did not create the Kindle fire HD to take pictures, but rather for social media and communications.
And the only other thing left to mention is once you purchase a Kindle Fire from Amazon, Amazon makes all your content accessible through all of your other devices such as your smart phone, your blackberry, Windows, iPhone, iPad, other androids and look who all apple, in its infinite wisdom decided to limit you to using only other Apple products.
Between the price and Amazons allowing you to use all your other content from all your other devices, this has made me a Kindle Fire HD fan and soon-to-be owner.
And if you think the price is too good to be true, watch this video.
