Las Vegas: Bible study leader arrested for sexual assault of children

In December, 2012 LVMPD Sexual Assault Detectives completed an investigation into allegations of Las Vegas: Bible study leader arrested for sexual assault of children sexual abuse of a child by a volunteer bible study leader. In January, 2013, 29-year-old David James of Las Vegas was remanded into custody after appearing in court to face ten counts of Sexual Assault with a Victim Under 14, two counts of Sexual Assault with a Victim Under 16, and ten counts of Lewdness with a Minor under 14.
Shortly after James’ arrest in January, Henderson Police Detectives received allegations of similar crimes. As a result of that investigation, James was rebooked by Henderson Police on charges of ten counts of Lewdness with a Minor Under 14 and four counts of Sexual Assault.
It is believed James used bible study classes and volunteered to lead bible study classes at several different religious centers in the Las Vegas valley to gain access to the victims. A booking photo of James accompanies this release.
This investigation remains ongoing.     Interesting in that the accused’s denomination is not listed. When the accused is RC, Anglican, or any other mainstream denomination, the denomination is named. When the accused is from a fringe church, he’s merely a “bible study leader” or a “pastor”. Why?
