If anyone watched the NBA All Star game last night because of something I wrote, I sincerely apologize. Personally, I fell asleep. I only witnessed three players making an effort, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and Kevin Durant.
Paul had 20 points and 15 assists, and was deserving of MVP honors. Durant had 30, and Griffin 19.
Towards the end of the game, there was a defensive play by Kobe Bryant that will be talked about on all the sports shows today. LeBron James attempted a jump shot, and Bryant went up and knocked it away, resulting in a dunk by Durant. The final was West 143, East 138.
All the “stars” had a moment or two, but most seemed to be going through the motions. I couldn’t help but think that if Michael Jordan was still playing, he would have been pretty angry with the lack of effort.
It was very evident why professional basketball is in trouble. March Madness begins 4 weeks from tomorrow.
