Nets look to Acquire Gordon from Bobcats

NBA: Charlotte Bobcats at Toronto RaptorsThe new look Nets look to acquire Ben Gordon from the Charlotte Bobcats. These are not your dads Nets, these are the new Brooklyn Nets.

The Bobcats and Nets are talking a Ben Gordon for Kris Humpries trade. The money makes sense, both make $12 million. The players though are one sided. Gordon is a superior player to Kris Humpries. Most people only know Humpries from his appearance on Keeping up with the Kardashians, and then his 72 day marriage to Kim Kardashian.

Gordon’s role on the Nets would be another shooter coming off their bench. Think of Jason Terry and J.R. Reid. Gordon gives them more depth and more options for player combination on the floor. Gordon’s three-point threat would open the post for Brook Lopez.

The Bobcats have had a long love affair for Humpries services offering him a three-year $28 million contract this off-season. Gordon is expendable for the Bobcats as he is an older player, he turns 30 in April, and they have depth at guard.

Gordon helps the Nets in the regular season, but they will need big bodies to bag in the playoffs. There is always Dwight Howard, oh wait the Lakers won’t trade him to get some sort of value before he just bolts to the Nets. Until next season then Nets fans. By Steve Kish
