Proof, But Not To Blackburn
The White House released a picture of President Obama shooting a shotgun on his 51st birthday, August 4, 2012. The picture was taken at Camp David.
When asked if he had ever shot a gun, he replied: “Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time.” When asked if there were pictures, he said he wasn’t sure, but there may be one around.
But Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, a Republican, of course, doubts him. She said: “If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn’t he referenced this at any point in time?”
What business is it of hers what Mr. Obama does for recreation? But she is in the majority of the Republican Party who has spent more time in Congress attempting to find ways to discredit the President or repeal health care, than legislating.
She went on to say she believes the President should invite her to Camp David to shoot with him. She added, “and I bet I’d beat him”.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney about the one found photograph: “When he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs.”
As I’ve said to Boehner, Cantor, and many other Congressmen: “Stop saying stupid things, and get to work. That’s why you were elected, and you owe it to those who voted for you.”
