Republican Senator Sherly Nuxoll compares healthcare to Holocaust

It is astounding and insulting when republicans resort to comparing events in today’s politics to that of Hitler or the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a tragic event in world history just as slavery was a tragic event in American history. So for today’s politicians mainly republicans, to compare something like healthcare that is meant to keep people healthy to an event that killed millions is just insulting.

In an email to her supporters republican senator Sherly Nuxoll wrote: “The insurance companies are creating their own tombs. Much like the Jews boarding the trains to concentration camps, private insurers are used by the feds to put the system in place because the federal government has no way to set up the exchange.”

It’s politicians like Senator Sherly Nuxoll (R-Idaho) who often forget that they are receiving healthcare due to the federal government and if they don’t like the public option so much how about they lead by example and purchase their own. It must be written somewhere saying it is ok for them to receive healthcare from the government but taxpayers themselves have to buy from the private market.

Politicians are elected officials elected to serve the American people and it is a privilege not a right to serve.

Politicians have become to comfortable in public office as many sit in office for decades just doing nothing or the bare minimum for their districts or states. That is till election time rolls around. Still, for some they just sit back and collect checks from their wall street friends and big business. Forgetting that it is the American people who elected them, as some in Congress want to redistrict county lines to insure their re-election.

Today’s politicians and that is both sides of the aisle just play politics, and there may be a few who actually do care and do serve those who elected them but those we the American people never or rarely hear about. We only hear about Boehner, Reid, McConnell, Pelosi, and Bachmann and that is when they are sparring or debating a huge issue.

Congress and the Senate needs term limits and to be held accountable for their actions and words. No more redistricting to stay in office, or name calling and referring to tragic events in history just to get attention. We all have different ideas for getting America going again, yet their seems to be no compromise and both parties are guilty of this. If you cannot serve the people who elected you then why are you in office, better yet why should you remain in office?

Mr. Colin Powell said it best in his book ‘It Worked For Me,’ when speaking on when it is time to get off the train. “Congress is probably the worst organization in this respect. I understand the importance of experience and the value of a decade or two of service. But thirty years or more? give it up and give your great-grandson a chance. How many more federal buildings and roads do you need named after you! No matter what your job, you are there to serve. It makes no difference if it is government, military, business, or any other endeavor. Go in with a commitment to selfless service, never selfish service. And cheerfully and with gratitude take your gold watch and plaque, get off the train before somebody throws you off, go sit in the shade with a drink, take a look at the other tracks and the other trains out there. Spend a moment watching the old train disappear, then start a new journey on a new train.”

Have to agree with Nuxoll in this case… if just 2% of the population is negatively impacted by Obamacare we will have injured and in some cases killed the 6 million equivalent of the holocaust. Obamacare is going to be much worse than that. This also thank God is a free country where freedom of speech is a right. Look what happened to Detrich Bonhoeffer in Germany who spoke out against Hitler… Better to be warned now rather than later… which is too late!

The situation in Washington continues to worsen.  We lack leadership in every legislative area.  Our President will not fight for what is necessary, and the Senate and House accomplish less than any Congress in history.  Today, the Republican led House is attempting to again change the rules and enrich the off-shore bank accounts of the […]

We’ve all heard that the Earth is heating up because of greenhouse gases (GHGs) released by the human race.  But scientists are divided about whether global warming is a catastrophe or a hoax.  Anyway, gases formerly regarded as the culprits may actually be functioning as thermostats and air conditioning units protecting us from frying.  We […]
