After a brief chase, the man who shot and killed former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and another man, Chad Littlefield, at a shooting range in Texas, has been apprehended. His name is Eddie Ray Routh of Lancaster, Texas, age 25. His motive is unknown at this time, but he is believed to have had military experience.
Kyle wrote “American Sniper”, in which he detailed some of the methodology which helped him accomplish 160 confirmed kills, the last in 2008 from 2100 yards.
Kyle did not put the number of kills in his book. Asked why in an NBC interview, this was his reply: “If I could figure out the number of people I saved, that’s something I would brag about,” he told NBC News’ Lester Holt.
