About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to businesses operating in the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of an increase in robberies that have occurred during the month of February and March. In these incidents, the offender enters a store, displays or implies a handgun, and takes cash. Incident times and locations are listed below:

5000 Block of S. Archer Ave. on February 12, 2013 at approximately 1:20 PM.
5000 Block of S. Pulaski Rd. on February 27, 2013 at approximately 6:00 PM.
4000 Block of W. 55th St. on March 1, 2013 at approximately 6:50 PM.

About the Offenders:
The offender’s description varies, but he is generally described as: Male/White 30-55 years of age, 5’5″-5’11”, 150-180 pounds.

What you can do:
Always be aware of your surroundings  Report suspicious activity immediately If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc…) Save video surveillance footage for later review. Never pursue a fleeing assailant. Provide the information to the police If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
