How Romney Would Have Protected Special Interests and stopped the Sequestration

The Romneys, on their first interview since losing the election, spoke to   Republican television, aka FOX news.  Ann Romney said her husband, had he won, would have solved the sequester by now.  “I totally believe at this moment, if Mitt were there in the office, that we would not be facing sequestration right now,” she said.

Mitt himself said:  “I’ll look at what’s happening right now, I wish I were there,” Mitt Romney said. “It kills me not to be there, not to be in the White House doing what needs to be done. The president is the leader of the nation. The president brings people together, does the deals, does the trades, knocks the heads together; the president leads. And – and I don’t see that kind of – of leadership happening right now”

Are there any surprises here?  A Republican President being blindly supported by his party, is this a first?  What Republicans don’t do is lead, they follow.

From the day President Obama took the oath of office in 2009, Republicans have said “no”, and nothing else.  Ideas that were once Republican, and proposed by the President are now unsupported by the right wing, simply because they came out of Mr. Obama’s mouth.

It’s easy for the Romney’s to say that the Sequester would not have happened if he had been elected.  Need I remind them that the House is controlled by his party?

The Romney’s are explaining why he lost the election.  It’s all the fault of the press and their misrepresentation of the “Mittster”.

Well, they’re partially correct.  He was exposed as a candidate who represented special interests and the wealthiest Americans.  He was exposed as a candidate who did not represent “47%” or more of the American people.  He was exposed as a candidate who pandered to whichever audience he was speaking to.

Romney, Boehner, and McConnell need to stop throwing temper tantrums.  You lost, get over it.  Now how about trying some positive action that will make all of our lives better, not just the top 2%?  I know that idea is quite revolutionary, but, try it, it just might work.
